Skupos scan data is a paid intermediary that formats and sends tobacco scan files to manufacturer programs. It is not the manufacturer program itself, and it is not your register. The public catalog now lives under PDI Essentials. The old C-Store Essentials domain points there.

What scan data is, as a feed, is already on what is scan data. How a store enrolls and why files get rejected is on the tobacco scan data page. This page is the vendor price and the product split.

Figures below are transcribed from skupos.com/pricing, retrieved 2026-09-10. PDI can change them.

The three public per-store prices

Scan Data plus Engage is listed at $49 per store per month. The page groups loyalty, brand-funded offers, rebate programs, POS integration, and automatic reporting on that plan.

C-Store Essentials Back Office is listed at $69 per store per month. That row is mobile and web app, pricebook, inventory, daily reporting, live sales, lottery, fuel, promotions, and user access. The page says that price does not include ERP integrations.

The Complete bundle is listed at $89 per store per month. PDI writes that as $29 a month less than buying the two pieces separately. All prices are per store per month. Annual billing is offered. Multi-location and enterprise pricing is “contact us.”

The same pricing page says no contracts, no credit card required, and cancel anytime. Treat that as PDI’s published claim on that URL, retrieved 2026-09-10. Manufacturer program contracts are separate. Altria, Reynolds, and ITG terms are not on this price table.

What the scan-data product page says it does

Skupos Scan Data describes the loop as scan at the register, automatic report, manufacturer review, then rebates. It markets the plan as contract-free with a flat monthly fee. It also posted an “Important Update” for Altria 2026 Digital Trade Program requirements. Read that update on their site. Do not budget a rebate amount from a blog, including this one.

The homepage, retrieved the same day, warned stores being contacted about scan data moving from CSE to Skupos that the request is legitimate. If you still log into C-Store Essentials, confirm which brand and which login you are actually on.

PDI does not replace a legal-for-trade scale, a SNAP Permit, or a card-processing schedule. It sits next to the POS. Ask which POS models they currently certify, in writing, before you plan income around it.

How to compare it with a register quote

Scan-data income is manufacturer money. The $49 or $89 line is software. A POS that cannot send a clean UPC file will make the software line worthless. Test a tobacco basket, a multi-pack discount, and a rejected-file email before you count on a rebate month.

Counter Club’s published in-person sample is 2.50% plus $0.10, keyed and online 2.90% plus $0.25, with a $0 monthly fee on that sample schedule. Sample pricing applies to new accounts applying directly. Pricing is subject to underwriting, MCC and the merchant agreement; rates may differ and are subject to change. See pricing. If you have a Skupos or PDI invoice next to a POS quote, send both.

Frequently asked questions

Is Skupos still a separate company from PDI? The public site retrieved 2026-09-10 brands the catalog as PDI Essentials and keeps Skupos logins and help-center links. Read the URL you are paying.

Do I need Scan Data if I already send files to Altria? PDI’s own pricing FAQ argues the formatting is what they sell. The manufacturer still sets whether a self-sent file is accepted. Ask the brand and ask PDI, in writing.

Does $49 include the POS? No. It is the scan-data and Engage software line.

Can I cancel the manufacturer program when I cancel PDI? Not automatically. Those are different agreements.

Will this work on Clover? Ask PDI for the current certified POS list. Do not take a forum post as the list.
