NRS POS system price is not one number. National Retail Solutions publishes a software plan, a hardware bundle, and a separate processing relationship. Stores get quoted the monthly plan and then discover the other two lines later. Read the public page first, then ask for the missing pieces in writing.
The figures below are transcribed from NRS’s public pricing page at nrsplus.com/pricing, retrieved 2026-09-10. NRS can change them. Processing rates are not on that table. A contract is required, per that page.
What NRS charges for software each month
NRS lists four POS service plans. The cheaper monthly price is the one that assumes you also take NRS Pay. Without NRS Pay, the same plan costs more.
- Basic: $19.95 a month with NRS Pay, $29.95 without. Three users.
- Pro: $34.95 a month with NRS Pay, $54.95 without. Unlimited users, and the Pro tool set included.
- Advanced: $49.95 a month with NRS Pay, $74.95 without. Adds the ecommerce and loyalty bundles that are add-ons on lower plans.
- Elite: $79.95 a month with NRS Pay, $109.95 without. Adds the marketing bundle.
Yearly billing is advertised as one month free. Each extra terminal is listed at $19.95 a month with NRS Pay, or $29.95 without, on whichever plan you pick.
Loyalty is not free on Basic or Pro. NRS markets the rewards product as BOSS Club. What to test at the counter is on our NRS loyalty program page. On the public pricing table, loyalty sits inside Advanced and Elite, and is an add-on below that.
What the hardware bundles cost on that page
Retrieved 2026-09-10, NRS listed:
- Puma POS: $1,299. NRS Pay optional. Credit-card reader included only for NRS Pay stores.
- Cheetah POS: $1,799. NRS Pay required. Card reader included.
- Panther workstation: $1,199. NRS Pay required.
- Panther tablet bundle: $499. NRS Pay required. NRS also says you can bring your own Android tablet and pay $0 for that hardware by installing the Panther app.
- Self-ordering kiosk: $1,595, plus $200 if you want the floor stand. NRS POS required. NRS Pay required.
Tax is extra. Several of those rows show a higher list price next to the offer price. Treat the offer price as the one NRS was advertising that day, not as a permanent SKU.
The same page adds a Panther software fee: Panther stores on flat-rate NRS Pay, or stores that process less than $10,000 in cash discount, are charged an extra $30 a month. That line is easy to miss on a verbal quote.
What the public NRS POS system price still leaves out
Card processing. The table says NRS Pay monthly fees are additional and based on plan. It does not print a swipe rate. Until you have the processing schedule in writing, you do not have a total cost.
Contract length, notice, and what happens to the hardware if you leave. The page says a contract is required. Ask for the term, the cancellation clause, and whether the terminal is purchased or tied to NRS Pay.
Add-ons. License ID scanning, time clock, cameras, ecommerce, and several other tools are listed as paid extras on the lower plans. A liquor counter that needs ID scanning should price that line, not assume it is in Basic. Age prompts at the register are covered on our age verification page.
Support hours on the page are phone and chat seven days a week. That is the published claim. It is not the same as on-site hardware service the same afternoon.
How to compare that quote to another register
Split the bid into three columns: software, hardware, processing. Then add the extras your store actually uses.
A $19.95 plan next to a $1,299 terminal can still be expensive if NRS Pay is priced above the processing you can get elsewhere, or if you need Advanced to unlock loyalty and ecommerce. The reverse is also true. A higher plan with processing you already wanted can be cheaper than a cheap plan plus three add-ons.
For a liquor store, the register still has to do case breaks, deposits, and ID work. Price is not the buying test. Fit is. Our liquor store POS page and liquor POS cost article are the operational checklist. What a POS system costs is the same three-column method for any counter.
Counter Club publishes sample processing and equipment numbers of its own: in-person 2.50% plus $0.10, keyed and online 2.90% plus $0.25, handheld terminal $199 to buy or $24.95 a month to rent, all-in-one $399 or $49.95 a month. Sample pricing applies to new accounts applying directly. Pricing is subject to underwriting, MCC and the merchant agreement; rates may differ and are subject to change. See pricing. If you have an NRS quote and want it laid next to another written schedule, send both.
Frequently asked questions
Is $19.95 the real NRS POS system price? It is the public Basic software price with NRS Pay, retrieved 2026-09-10. Hardware, tax, processing, extra terminals, and add-ons sit on top.
Do I have to take NRS Pay? Puma lists NRS Pay as optional. Cheetah, Panther, and the kiosk list it as required on that page. Without NRS Pay, the software plans cost more per month.
Is BOSS Club included? Loyalty programs are listed as included on Advanced and Elite, and as add-ons on the cheaper plans.
Can I keep my own card processor? Ask NRS in writing. The public table prices a path with NRS Pay and a more expensive path without it. It does not describe every third-party processor combination.
Will these prices match my sales deck? They should be checked against nrsplus.com/pricing the day you sign. If the deck is lower, find the footnote.
